Bob,

Thanks so much for the comment and recommendation. I am conducting a coaching session tomorrow for one of my executive coaching certification classes and I will definitely try the "double O"! I am flattered that you consider me a fellow Englishman/woman, but I am actually located in the states (in Dallas, TX), but hope to be a Londoner someday! I will most certainly be in touch.

Hi, Nice post about GROW. One way that I find useful to look at the model is to give the 'O' two meanings. Obstacles first and then Options. In that way the model becomes 1) Where do you want to go? 2) Where are you now? 3) What is stopping you (internally or externally) just going to your Goal? 4) How can you get around those Obstacles? 5) What are you going to do to put those Options into action? It breaks down each section more clearly and helps the coach stay focussed.

There is a video about this on the front page of bobgriffiths.com if you are interested. I have also created some coaching software to help individuals learn how to use GROW well. It is on the CoachMaster page of the site. Do let me know what you think. I am in the UK too so feel free to stay in touch through the website. Bob

Ha! You win with the golf EQ. Fortunately my spouse is not a regular on the course. Keep me in mind when your EQ programming comes into fruition stage too!

Thanks so much for the support, Caryn! You definitely hit on my reason for starting the club - many want to make a move, but just don't know where to begin. Would love to have you as a guest, once we have a crowd!

Great post Joy! Thanks for all the information and sources. I really think EQ is the key and I am hoping to have a speaker or do some type of workshop for my students. I was looking for more information so this is really helpful for me. And on a personal note, I totally get needing to really channel your EQ when it comes to men playing golf :)
