Are you a college student ready to embark on your internship or job search? Whatever path you plan to follow -- entering the workforce after graduation, attending graduate school, or still trying to figure that out -- you can still benefit from developing a professional skill set right now.
Research shows that you are more likely to land a full time job if you’ve completed an internship. Furthermore, the National Association of Colleges and Employers reports that among college seniors surveyed in 2008 approximately 50 percent reported having taken part in at least one internship.
Join SMU Career Counselor Caryn Statman, M.Ed. and former Campus Recruiter turned career consultant, Joy Schwartz, for a fun and interactive dialogue on the transition from campus to the workplace.
Whether you’re about to go off to college, about to graduate, or somewhere in between, this session is for you. Parents are welcome!
Topics will be customized to suit the audience and may include:
Major and career exploration
Writing impressive resumes and cover letters
Interviewing with impact
Identifying job search resources
